Does E5 include Copilot?
No. Microsoft 365 E5 does not include Microsoft 365 Copilot. Even at the top enterprise tier, Copilot is a separate paid add-on.
E5 is security and compliance, not AI
E5 is the top enterprise plan for security, compliance, analytics, and voice. It does not bundle the paid Microsoft 365 Copilot seat. That is a deliberate split: Copilot is priced and sold separately so you can license it for the roles that will use it.
Your E5 users do have the free Copilot Chat that comes with most Microsoft 365 subscriptions. The paid seat, about $30 per user per month, is what grounds Copilot in your own emails, files, and meetings and puts it inside the Office apps.
